This is a project inspired by Poppies, a poem written by Mary Oliver, a woman who's work has touched me in so may ways. This project takes the viewer on a illustrative, interactive, and hopefully stirring journey through the poem. A combination of animations that play on their own, instructions to scroll or press buttons, play with this idea of autonomy or lack of, a sentiment Oliver speaks upon in her work. I hope that by asking the user to partake in the story actively, it further drives the narrative and showcases the power media arts, coding, and interactivity have to shape our emotions and behavior.

Illustrations were created in Figma and the rest of the project was created entirely in p5.js
